WANNA GET CRAFTY?

Long time, & all that other good stuff.

Okay, so after being totally burned out by subbing this past year, I've now taken on the monumental task of putting together a last minute, little craft fair for my taiko drumming school's annual obon festival in July.

If you're interested in getting involved, here's the skinny:

We are looking for 10-15 artists/crafters who would like to sell their handmade goods during the Sozenji Obon Festival (an obon festival is a Japanese summer festival). The festival is located at the Sozenji Temple in Montebello (between Beverly Blvd. and Garfield). There will be Japanese dancing, taiko drumming, a farmers' market & a raffle. Admission is free.

The festival will be from 1pm - 8pm on July 27th (Sunday).

If there are more applicants than available tables, all artists will be notified of his or her status by June 27th.

Table fee: $35.00. This includes a table, two chairs and a trash receptacle. Some booths will be outside, for which we will have canopies.

The most successful vendors will be selling affordable items that include: jewelry, crocheted/knitted items, ceramics/pottery, and/or accessories. Asian-inspired is a plus, but definitely not something you should feel limited to. I, for example, plan to be selling a variety of handmade items. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THIS IS A FAMILY EVENT AT A PLACE OF WORSHIP. So, please keep it appropriate. If you're not sure, you're more than welcome to ask in advance.

All profits will go to the Taiko Center of Los Angeles.

Email your name, email address, phone number and pics of what you'll be planning to sell.

Thanks!
